I was watching the midnight news on TV3 a few nights ago, which I later regret doing so. Every news are of negative topics. It makes one feel so depressing after the news. If I can recall it correctly, there were news of Lynas Rare Earth issue , an Indian man raped an eight year old girl , murder of an Indonesian maid and many other negative news. On top of it, the current increased of electricity rate and the expected increased price of commodities.
Just this evening an item has been increased , Gardernia wholemeal bread has increased by MYR0.20 ( From MYR3.00 to MYR3.20). What other items are coming ?...............

Are Malaysian a corrupted bunch ?
In my opinion,from the beginning, the Malaysian government has declared false CPI for too long. ( Lower Consumer Price Index as it is actual ) It is with my understanding that many developing countries practices false CPI in order to attract foreign investment into their country. This is fine ,as many already developed countries did the same thing when they are in the category of a developing nation. However this must be regulated and not to continue for too long. As such the consequences will be LOW wages in comparison with "real" inflation.
This is what actually has happened in Malaysia, with the increased of fuel prices and subsequently majority consumables products have increased in price, however the majority wages are suppressed.
Take an example of a honest Malaysian breadwinner with a wife and a child, probably just owning a motorcycle and a rented home. His miniscule amount of salary was just enough to go through the months and suddenly fuel prices increased, his household food items also increase , electricity bills also increased ,however his little salary was either not touch at all or with a tiny increment , worst still some are even reduced,...with many management standard reply was, QUOTE: "we need to cut cost, as with electricity tariff increased, our production are affected badly "UNQUOTE . This poor honest Malaysian will be force as a survival means , to either having to have a second part time job , or to commit petty crimes , or to commit corruption or to cheat in order to earn the little extra income.
Having to work extra hard by having another part time or second job ( example ,driving a taxi ) ,,will also have the impact of social ills. His wife and children are ignore . Or perhaps his wife also needs to take up a job and also does the housework , and the poor child is completely ignore and left alone to deal with this mean world. Hence another social ills arise,..this child will perhaps indulge in "Mat Rampit" ?
Humans, having survival instincts , will have no choice but to commit crimes, cheat and corrupt if they are push to the wall.
Only now in the year 2010 , the Malaysian government are talking about minimum wage, which is a good step to take, however I sincerely hope this will take place very quickly.
